Artyarns Yarn Information

Artyarns Yarn was founded in 2002 in White Plains, New York. The company has already established a reputation for producing innovative knitting patterns and gorgeous hand-dyed yarns. ArtYarns currently offers five yarns, with an emphasis on wool and silk fibers. All yarns are offered in multiple colorways that range from nearly solid to wildly contrasting.

While smaller produces may be able to offer a more unique product, Artyarns Yarn gets the balance of its materials, colors, pricing, design support, and distribution better than most. The company currently offers yarns with a variety of stylish knitting patterns to complement the beautiful yarns available from Artyarns.

The following is just a small selection of fibers currently available.

Beaded silk from Artyarns - A beautiful and luxurious Regal Silk 100% Japanese Mulberry silk hand-painted yarn that is twisted with a silk strand of glass beads to create a lovely, jewel-like yarn. Will work with any patterns that call for worsted weight yarn. It is very soft and has a beautiful sheen that only 100% silk can provide.

Cashmere 5 from Artyarns - A worsted weight yarn created with five side-by-side plies of fine 100% cashmere. This cashmere knits up quickly on US size 8 needles. Perfect for scarves, hats, sweaters, and just about anything that touches the skin.

Silk Rhapsody from Artyarns - The exotic combination of lovely silk and mohair is simply exquisite. The silk gives the yarn incredible shine and strength while the mohair adds unbelievable softness. The resulting drape and feel is extremely luxurious. Lovely worsted weight yarn that can be used for anything from scarves and shawls to sweaters and coats. Looks great with lace and cables too.

Silk Rhapsody Glitter from Artyarns - A mixture of 50% mohair and 50% silk. A soft strand of either gold or silver is added to this heavenly yarn to make it positively shine. Perfect for the dressiest accessories or garments, this worsted weight yarn is lovely in lace and stunning in cables.

Silk Mohair from Artyarns - A blend of 70% kid mohair and 30% silk, this fingering weight kid mohair with a silk core is soft to the touch and a pleasure to work. Ideal for knitting delicate designs with cables and lace. For knitting intricate patterns, Artyarns silk mohair is a perfect yarn.

Ultramerino 8 from Artyarns - An ultra-luxury merino wool that is unbelievably soft - it feels like cotton. The smooth surface has no twist. An incredible yarn perfect for the most discerning knitter.
