Filaro Yarn
Filaro yarn is an exciting fiber from knitwear designer Anna Gratton. Anna Gratton's boutique mill and farm are located at Waituna West, near Feilding, in a fertile valley in the heart of the Manawatu, in the center of the North Island, New Zealand. Since 1976 a flock of both stud white and naturally colored Corriedales have been farmed. They produce exceptional fiber for the Filaro Yarn spinning mill. The silky soft fleece is in the 27 - 30 micron range, producing quality craft fibers for knitting and weaving yarns.
The yarns available from the Filaro range include, 2 to 12 ply merino wool. Filaro brushed mohair - 74% mohair/24% wool 2% nylon blend - in a heavy worsted weight. There is also a super crepe yarn from Filaro; 80% wool, 17% Rayon and 3% Nylon, in colors; Mother of Pearl, Amethyst, Desert, Jade, Paua and Cherry.
Sparkle Mohair from Filaro Yarn
This yarn from the Filaro range remains a very popular choice. It is a sensational yarn choice that combines shimmer with incredible softness. Filaro "Sparkle Mohair" is a wonderfully soft brushed mohair boucle yet with a strand of lurex glitter that shimmers and glimmers without any scratchiness. It is made in New Zealand from 47% mohair, 35% wool, 14% acrylic and 4% nylon. Filaro Sparkle Mohair is best used in sweaters, tops, shawls, scarves and outerwear accessories, where its beautiful shimmering quality can be best appreciated.
